SIZE: 24 x 16

PRICE: $159.95
Description
The gorgeous and spectacular St Mary falls of Glacier National Park, Montana. This incredible lighting event presents itself in a very short window of opportunity each year. Illuminating the rising mist and spray off the powerful cascading waterfall, the low angle of the sun adds dramatic warmth and occasional beams of light just before it tucks behind the distant mountain range. The blue-green waters are all natural as this is the result of snow melt capturing talc minerals and carrying them as runoff.

St. Mary's falls is one of several sublime waterfalls along a well maintained trail that is a 4.2 mile out and back hike.

This Fine Art print is available in assorted sizes right up to 48 x 34" Please do not hesitate to contact Thomas with any questions.

Description
So imagine, you close your eyes and I describe in detail the essence of a new day emerging on a hidden New England pond. The air is still, in the distance you hear the wail of a singular loon. The briskness of 29 degree air touches your face, you feel refreshed and alive. You breath deeply, there is a sweet scent in the air you are familiar with. The scent of decaying leaf litter, fall is in the air! You hear no traffic, no horns. A slight breeze picks up and now you can hear the air swoosh through the pine trees with a gentle rhythm. I then describe the dappled light on the distant shoreline as the first soft rays of light illuminate the warm autumn colors. An ethereal mist rises from the tranquil waters of the pond, you imaging what details the mist hides from your view.

The scene I describe to you is available in assorted sizes up to 60 x 29.5" It is Rickers Pond, in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and nestled neatly into a corner of the Groton State Forest.

I love the challenge of exploring the landscape for more intimate, hidden and subtle details. To me, the challenge is part of the journey.

The simplicity of this setting was wonderful and absolutely serene. This was seen and created on Jordan Pond - Acadia National Park, Maine. Just as the sun had set, the post lighting and color hues were spectacular.

Before the pinkish pastel sky reflections off the calm waters faded I managed to make half a dozen exposures at slightly different compositions. I needed to use a mid-telephoto lens to isolate this narrow trail of pond reeds.

Of the six exposures, I felt two of them were truly worthy of sharing and expressed my visions and communicating the real Zen like experience of being there. This is one of the two, a wide frame version allowing the reeds to spread edge to edge at a slightly diagonal angle. My other version is an almost perfectly square format, and a much closer and lower crop. However when compared to this much wider landscape, the reeds to the right are gradually spaced further from largest on the left. This print provides a greater sense of depth.

Description
With so many intensely beautiful places to photograph in the Colorado Rocky Mountains the Maroon Bells may certainly fall in the top 5 on anyones list. It's a scene I had my fingers crossed tightly that I would experience a magical moment. On this, only my second photo session at this spiritual dream scape I was most fortunate to capture the mood and serenity I had wished for!

A prior visit earlier in the week let me establish a suitable location to capture the reflection of the Bells in the surface of Maroon Lake. Being it would be in the dark of night lugging my photographic equipment to the lake shore I needed it to be precise. I would establish a tripod height necessary to get it right in camera, and needing the ability to capture both a portrait version (this print) and a landscape-horizontal version (also available in my Colorado portfolio)

The moment the drama began to unfold I knew I had to get this right! The waters surface was remarkable calm and tranquil like that of a mirror. The clouds hovering over the Maroon Bells peaks were perfectly suited to reflect the warm alpenglow of dawn. The early fall foliage reflected their gorgeous colors. When it all finally happened it was such a rush. Part of you just wants to live in the moment and try to remember every second, while the artist inside knows how important it is that I capture the grandeur of this majestic iconic place perfectly.

Provincetown is mostly thought of as a bustling destination, Cape Cod's most popular if not fascinating little town. Narrow streets crammed with Chowder houses, bars and touristic shops.

I chose to seek out elements of the Province land's historic past hidden just out of plain site. This is a long timed exposure taken under an abandoned dock. An eerie, translucent light seems to illuminate the piers. If you take the time to explore, it appears as though one could wander indefinitely through a never ending forest of drenched wooden upright poles.

Description
The iconic lighthouse at Newport's Castle Hill has been a very cooperative subject for Tom. This is one of several outstanding creations from a single session on a late summers evening.

Pre-scouting the location helps determine effective compositions so when the lighting is just right Tom is able to get himself situated for truly exceptional images that capture the emotion and grandeur of the moment.

This scene is unique from the other Fine Art prints Tom has created from Castle Hill Lighthouse as a sailboat entered the frame in just the right spot! Tom had been positioned just a few feet to the right and closer to the ocean. Anticipating the sailboats direction, he moved higher and slightly closer to the tower and was able to create this colorful seascape.

The colors are radiant, this artwork is absolutely amazing ordered on a Metal print!

Avalanche Gorge-Glacier Park

Description
Avalanche Creek is a gorgeous natural feature located in the western side of Montana's Glacier National Park. The roiling cold waters flow from Avalanche lake and flow about 2.4 miles until it carves a narrow chasm that is called Avalanche Gorge.

One of Glacier's popular hiking trails runs along the gorge once you pass through the Trail of The Cedars. The cedars are actually western red cedars, which are technically an evergreen cypress. The giant 500-600 year old trees tower above the gorge and Avalanche Creek allowing very little light to penetrate the forest floor. This is the eastern most rain forest in North America, a fragmented microclimate that more closely resembles the Pacific Northwest than the remainder of Montana and Idaho's vast forest.

The emerald tint in the water is quite real! This is caused by a Glacial talc, or a fine powder that eventually finds it way into small streams and rivers from Glacial melting. This is most commonly found in North America in the northern Rockies. The talc itself is extremely fine and colorless, however it picks up the blue wavelength of light and that is how we see it.

We are making this artwork available in assorted sizes up to a massive 48 x 32" here on this website. Tom does offer the option of larger prints, for that please CONTACT him direct with your needs. For large METAL prints it is highly suggested to contact us direct using the CONTACT link. Tom or someone on staff will respond to your email usually the same day.

Description
The symbol of freedom, the American Flag, adorns a rustic weathered barn in Connecticut's verdant and scenic Litchfield Hills region.

This image has been treated to an artistic post processing technique known as texture overlay. The overall effect is intended to enhance and age the photograph, and specifically with this artwork the significance is a Colonial era theme. The visible "scrolled text" is part of the artwork. This print makes for a wonderful framed print for any home with a rustic or even a Country decor.

This very same image has gained National recognition with it's use as Wall Art decor for the popular CBS TV series NCIS - New Orleans in November of 2014.
